AT&T has an opening for a Government Network Operations Center (GNOC) Lead to provide direct oversight of personnel and operations at our customer location and ensure the success of various NOC initiatives by collaborating closely with our on-site mission partners. This is an entry level management position, with direct guidance and oversight from the NOC manager.
The job duties of the GNOC Site Lead are as follows:
• Oversee BrS NOC operations at GNOC [customer] location.
• Work directly with the NOC manager and NOC technical lead to ensure the successful implementation of new network architectures, protocols, tools, and associated processes.
• Ensure all on-site personnel are familiar with established work processes and administrative procedures.
• As needed provide training on new procedures and remedial training on existing methods of troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with other contract groups and other service providers to identify and address any deficiencies that impact operations, and the quality of service provided to the customer and end-user.
• Assist with creating, implementing, and refining new initiatives aimed at improving service levels and operational efficiency.
• Oversee GNOC administration of networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all hardware configurations.
• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades with on-site NOC personnel. Perform configuration management functions such as validating topology drawings and ensure that asset management records are accurate.
• Leverage knowledge of OSI layers 1, 2, and 3 to troubleshoot various network faults and performance issues
• Communicate directly with the Mission Director and keep them informed of any major incidents, changes, or emergency maintenance that need to be conducted.
• Inform the NOC manager of any issues with on-site personnel, including performance or disciplinary shortcomings.
• Ensure continual site staffing by reporting to the NOC manager any changes in the status of NOC personnel, such as absences, and early or late departures.
• Modify and troubleshoot layer three routing across the enterprise network.
• Conduct extensive troubleshooting of Multiprotocol Label Switch (MPLS) across the WAN.
• Participate in evaluation of new network technologies and provide recommendations to the network architecture team regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network. Ensure adequacy of plans for hardware and communications. Develop and implement methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks.
• Leverage various network tools such as Microfocus and Riverbed to quickly identify and isolate customer impacting events on the network.
• Communicate and troubleshoot with vendors and other service providers to efficiently resolve incidents.
• Diagnose hardware and software problems and coordinate the replacement of defective components.
• Support network operations and maintenance activities via technical exchange meetings.
• Follow established practices for identifying, documenting, and correcting problems impacting the enterprise network.
